Call for Abstracts: You are invited to submit abstracts for presentations regarding wildlife and habitat conservation for inclusion in the 2007 meeting of the Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society .  Presentations will be allotted 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes for questions.  Abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers and notification of acceptance will be provided by September 10th.  All authors/presenters attending the conference MUST register and pay the appropriate conference registration fee.  Please email your abstracts, by September 6th to: Dr. Jeff Duguay at jduguay@deltastate.edu

Best Student Presentation Award: Given for an especially meritorious presentation by a student at the annual meeting. The purpose of the award is to stimulate greater student participation at the annual meeting of the Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society. In order to qualify for this award, the senior author must be a student, and must submit an abstract by the deadline. Only student authors who request consideration for the presentation award will be judged for the award. The student presentation award is given to the senior author if she/he is a graduate or undergraduate student at the time of presentation.  Presentations will be allotted 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes for questions.  Abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers and notification of acceptance will be provided by September 10th.  All authors/presenters attending the conference MUST register and pay the appropriate conference registration fee.  Students interested in competing for the award of $100 for best student presentation should specify at the end of their abstract that it is a student presentation.  Please email your abstracts, by September 6th to:

Call for publication awards.  The Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society is seeking nominations for best publication in the following categories: Best peer-reviewed paper, Best technical publication, Best popular article, Best book, Other – Best Video/DVD/CD.  To be eligible for an award, at least one author must be a member of the Mississippi Chapter of TWS at the time of nomination and the publication must be published within the last 5 years.  Self nominations are acceptable.  Send three copies to Dr. Jeff Duguay, Division of Biological and Physical Sciences, Delta State University, Box 3262, Cleveland, MS 38733.  Deadline for nominations is September 07, 2007.  Winners will be announced at the October meeting of the Mississippi Chapter of TWS.
